Tanksley leads Hofstra over Delaware 79-69
NEWARK, Del. -- Ameen Tanksley hit five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points with six rebounds to lead Hofstra to a 79-69 win over Delaware to move into fourth place in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Juan'ya Green had 17 points, hitting 10 of 12 from the free throw line, and had six assists for Hofstra (15-9, 6-5). Brian Bernardi added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, as the Pride hit 13 of 37 3-pointers on the night. Tanksley was 6 of 10 from the field and hit 5 of 6 free throws.
Five players finished in double figures scoring for Delaware (5-17, 4-7), led by Cazmon Hayes' 14 points and five rebounds. Chivarsky Corbett had 13 points and seven boards.
The Pride took an eight point lead at the half, but Delaware slowly crawled back to cut the deficit to three with eight minutes remaining. Hofstra then scored the next nine points to hold on.
