Miller with 18; New Hampshire beats Vermont 73-68
DURHAM, N.H. -- Daniel Dion hit a key 3-pointer with 2:10 left and five New Hampshire players reached double figures in a 73-68 victory over Vermont on Thursday night.
Dion's trey gave the Wildcats a 64-61 lead. Dre Wills split a pair of free throws to pull Vermont within 64-42. Matt Miller answered with a 3 and the Wildcats shot 6 of 8 from the line to seal it.
Miller scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. Tanner Leissner finished with 14 points, Dion had 12, Jaleen Smith 11 and Jacoby Armstrong 10 for New Hampshire (11-9, 4-3 America East), which shot 50 percent from the floor.
Wills scored 17 points and Trae Bell-Haynes had 12 to lead Vermont (10-9, 5-1). Zach McRoberts grabbed 11 rebounds and added six points for the Catamounts, who dropped a game back behind America East leader Albany (11-7, 6-0).
