Tennessee Tech beats Tennessee State 71-52
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Dwan Caldwell scored 17 points, Josiah Moore added 13 and Tennessee Tech cruised in the second half for a 71-52 victory over Tennessee State on Thursday night.
The Golden Eagles (12-13, 4-8 Ohio Valley) went ahead for good on a 14-2 run late in the first half. After the break, they never let the lead slip below their 12-point halftime advantage (37-25).
Mason Ramsey added 10 points and Charles Jackson grabbed nine rebounds. Tennessee Tech outrebounded the Tigers 44-32 and forced 20 turnovers while evening the all-time series at 30-all and avenging a 64-56 loss to the Tigers on Jan. 29.
Marcus Roper scored 21 points and Jay Harris had 10 for Tennessee State (5-21, 2-9), which never led. The Tigers pulled even at 18 with an 8-1 run after falling behind by seven points early.
