Morehead State beats Tennessee Tech 78-74
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Brent Arrington had 24 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead Morehead State to a 78-74 victory over Tennessee Tech on Thursday night.
Arrington shot 5 of 11 from the field and made 13 of 14 free throws. Corban Collins scored 15 points and Karam Mashour and Angelo Warner each chipped in 14 for Morehead State (8-13, 3-3 Ohio Valley), which outrebounded Tennessee Tech 31-25.
Morehead State led 74-71 when Kareem Storey forced a turnover on Tennessee Tech's Torrance Rowe with 17 seconds to play. The Eagles shot 4 of 4 from the line to stretch its lead to 78-71, and Tennessee Tech's Jordan Johnson drained a 3 at the buzzer to end it.
Johnson scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4 of 6 from long range, to lead Tennessee Tech (9-11, 1-6). Charles Jackson scored 18 and Josiah Moore added 12 for the Golden Eagles.
