Sacred Heart cruises to 86-75 win over Wagner
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Evan Kelley scored 19 points, Cane Broome added 16 more and Sacred Heart cruised to an 86-75 win over Wagner on Thursday night.
Sacred Heart (10-14, 4-7 Northeast) shot 56.1 percent on 57 attempts from the field and took the lead for good midway through the first half with a layup from Chris Robinson, which ignited a 12-0 run to make it 25-17 and carried 42-31 advantage into the break.
Jordan Allen contributed 13 points, De'von Barnett had 11 and Tevin Falzon had 10 to go with eight rebounds for the Pioneers, who avenged last week's loss to Wagner (8-14, 6-5) on the Seahawks' home court and trimmed the series record to 19-13.
Wagner was led by Marcus Burton's 22 points. JoJo Cooper added 14 points while Mike Aaman had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Seahawks, who shot 28 of 55 from the floor (50.9 percent).
