DAVIS, Calif. -- Corey Hawkins and J.T. Adenrele combined to score 36 points as UC Davis got by Eastern Illinois 80-70 on Tuesday night.
Hawkins had 19 points and six assists, Adenrele made 7 of 9 from the floor for 17 points and Josh Ritchart chipped in 11 for UC Davis (7-1).
Hawkins now has 100 career assists.
The Aggies were ahead 36-32 at the break and led throughout the second half, but could never pull away. Eastern Illinois' Chris Olivier tipped in a rebound to trail 73-67 with 2:04 left but the Panthers could get no closer.
The Aggies had a hot hand, making 25 of 43 field goal attempts (58.1 percent) while limiting Eastern Illinois to 25-of-59 shooting (42.4 percent).
Reggie Smith made 3 of 6 from long range and scored 16 points for the Panthers (3-6). Trae Anderson and Olivier chipped in 12 apiece .
