New Orleans beats Southeastern Louisiana 85-79
NEW ORLEANS -- Nate Frye scored 24 points, Kevin Hill added 15, and New Orleans beat Southeast Louisiana 85-79 on Thursday in its home season finale.
Christavious Gill and Kevin Brown had 13 points apiece and Tevin Broyles added 10 for the Privateers (10-16, 6-11 Southland), which made 12 of 19 from long distance, led by Frye's six 3s.
The Lions led 20-19 on Dylon Maggio's layup, but Brown hit two 3-pointers amid a 13-0 run and the Privateers led 42-34 at halftime.
New Orleans scored three straight 3s in a 12-8 second-half run and led 54-42, then used a 10-3 run to pull ahead by 23. The Lions rallied and Cedric Jenkins scored 10 straight points to pull them within 81-79 with 20 seconds left. Hill and Boyles iced it for New Orleans with two free throws apiece.
Jenkins scored a season-high 39 and Jimmie Duplessis added 10 for the Lions (9-21, 6-11), who have lost four straight.
