Woodley scores 36; NW State runs past Central Arkansas 86-70
NATCHITOCHES, La. -- Zeek Woodley made 12 of 16 field goals and 10 of 11 free throws for a career-high 36 points to lead Northwestern State to an 86-70 win over Central Arkansas on Monday night.
Tra'von Joseph had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Jalan West added 10 points and dished out 11 assists for Northwestern State (14-10, 9-4 Southland Conference), which has won six of the last seven games.
Northwestern State started strong and led 49-34 at the break. The Bears had a 15-3 run to close to 59-51 with 14:38 remaining. Woodley answered with 12 straight points as the Demons stretched the margin to 71-57 with 10:51 left.
Jordan Howard made 6 of 7 shots from beyond the arc for 20 points, Mike Martin added 17 with six assists and Mathieu Kamba chipped in 12 for Central Arkansas (1-22, 1-11).
