Houston Baptist dominates Dallas Christian 88-44
HOUSTON -- Terry Harris and Marcel Smith combined for 26 points to lead Houston Baptist to a dominating 88-44 victory over Dallas Christian on Saturday night.
Harris, who had 14 points, made 3 of 5 from long range. Colter Lasher contributed 11 points and Josh Ibarra had six blocked shots and seven rebounds for Houston Baptist (2-2). The Huskies finished with 15 blocks.
Houston Baptist sprinted to a 26-8 lead midway of the first half and led 49-22 at the break. They pushed the lead to 64-30 with 9:28 remaining.
Houston Baptist pulled down 48 rebounds compared to 33 for the Crusaders. The Huskies made 36 of 61 field goal attempts (59%) while limiting Dallas Christian to 14 of 60 (23.3%).
The Huskies outscored Dallas Christian 46-16 in the paint.
Derek Hearns led the Crusaders with 10 points.
