Robert Morris holds off Wagner 77-73
NEW YORK -- Lucky Jones scored 18 points and hauled in nine rebounds to lift Robert Morris to a 77-73 win over Wagner on Thursday night.
Rodney Pryor also contributed 18 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, and Marcquise Reed had 15 points for Robert Morris (6-9, 2-1 Northeast Conference), which never trailed in the game but had to hold off a second half surge by Wagner.
Jones made 12 of 14 free throws, and sank half of them in the final 31 seconds to clinch the win.
Wagner (3-11, 1-2) kept the score close and tied the game at 62 with a tip-in from Greg Senat with 6:34 left. Jones hit a pair of free throws at the other end to put the Colonials back on top and they held off Wagner down the stretch.
Marcus Burton led Wagner with 21 points. Corey Henson added 16 and Romone Saunders scored 12.
