LIU Brooklyn beats St. Francis (Pa) 79-74 in OT
LORETTO, Pa. -- Landon Atterberry led five players in double figures with 15 points and Nura Zanna and Iverson Fleming combined for 10 points in overtime Saturday as LIU-Brooklyn beat St. Francis (Pa.) for the second time in a week, 79-74.
Martin Hermannsson had 13 points for the Blackbirds (12-13, 8-6 Northeast Conference), who have won five of six, including a 66-60 win over St. Francis last Saturday. Zanna, who finished with eight, and Fleming, who only had the five, had all but two of LIU-Brooklyn's points in OT.
Earl Brown had 22 points and 12 rebounds for St. Francis (14-11, 8-6).
The Red Flash, who trailed by as many as 11 in the second half, took a 66-64 lead on Dominique Major's 3-pointer with 49 seconds left. Hermannsson quickly answered with a 3 but Ronnie Drinnon made a free throw with eight seconds left to force the overtime.
