McCaw scores 21 points, leads UNLV over Wyoming 69-57
LAS VEGAS -- Patrick McCaw hit five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points to lead UNLV to a 69-57 victory over Wyoming on Saturday night.
McCaw was 6 of 10 from the floor. Christian Wood scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Cody Doolin chipped in 10 points for UNLV, which shot 48 percent overall and 11 of 19 (58 percent) from long range.
UNLV (16-13, 7-9 Mountain West) built a 32-25 halftime lead and stretched it to 10 with 11:05 remaining. Wyoming's Josh Adams hit a 3 and Charles Hankerson Jr. made a layup to pull the Cowboys within 52-49 with 7:49 to play. The Rebels answered with a 10-0 run and held on for the win.
Adams scored 24 points, his third 20-plus game in his last four, to lead Wyoming (21-8, 10-6). Derek Cooke Jr. added 10 for the Cowboys.
