Jackson, Fant, Price, lead W. Kentucky past FAU 71-68
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Trency Jackson, George Fant and T.J. Price scored 17 apiece and Western Kentucky used a big second-half run to beat Florida Atlantic 71-68 on Thursday night.
Jackson converted a three-point play, Price made a jumper and Fant hit a pair of free throws to spark 12-straight points by Western Kentucky (16-10, 9-5 Conference USA). The Hilltoppers extended that to an 18-2 run for a 58-50 lead with eight minutes left.
Justin Massey, Solomon Poole and Jackson Trapp hit 3-pointers on consecutive Florida Atlantic (8-17, 1-13) possessions, cutting the Owls' deficit to 68-70 with 34 seconds to play, but Price made 1 of 2 free throws before FAU missed its last two shots.
Marquan Botley led Florida Atlantic with 18 points and Trapp added 10. Justin Raffington grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss.
Western Kentucky snapped a four-game skid while FAU lost its 10th in a row.
