Sherman's 21 and 17 lead UTSA over Cameron 79-68
SAN ANTONIO -- Kaj-Bjorn Sherman set career highs on Tuesday with 21 points and 17 rebounds in UTSA's 79-68 win over Division II Cameron.
UTSA (5-5) pulled away from a 60-all tie with 11:05 left to a 71-62 lead on Ryan Bowie's layup at the 3:54 mark. Bowie and Christian Wilson added 3-pointers in the final minutes to seal the win.
Cameron rallied after trailing 47-33 early in the second half to tie the game at 56 and 60 but never pulled in front.
Sherman had his first career double-double by halftime with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jeromie Hill finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Bowie added 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Deondre Ray led Cameron with 13 points. The Aggies outshot UTSA from the field, but the Roadrunners were 18 of 21 from the foul line compared to just 5 of 7 for Cameron.
