West leads Nevada to 83-55 win over Marshall to end skid
RENO, Nev. -- A.J. West scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Nevada ended an eight-game losing streak on Monday, routing Marshall 83-55.
Marqueze Coleman added 13 points and Michael Perez 12 for the Wolf Pack (3-8).
Nevada outrebounded the Thundering Herd (4-8), who shot 26 percent, 59-35. The Wolf Pack had been shooting 37 percent but shot 46 percent to score 25 points above their average.
West, who was questionable for the game after missing the previous game with a heel injury, had 15 points in the first half as the Wolf Pack took a 38-30 lead.
Nevada opened the second half with a 27-6 run as the Thundering Herd were in the process of shooting just 7 of 29 (24 percent), including 1 of 11 from 3-point range. They finished 5 of 28 beyond the arc.
Justin Edmonds led Marshall, which has lost eight of its last nine, with 10 points.
