Old Dominion pulls away from Md-Eastern Shore 60-43
NORFOLK, Va. -- Jonathan Arledge and Aaron Bacote scored 12 points apiece to lead Old Dominion to a 60-43 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Friday night.
Denzell Taylor hauled in 11 rebounds and had four steals, while Trey Freeman added nine points and dished out four assists for Old Dominion (9-1), which won its sixth straight game despite shooting just 35.7 percent from the floor.
UMES (5-8) opened the game with a 7-2 spurt sparked by a Devin Martin 3-pointer but couldn't hold the pace as the Monarchs responded with an 8-2 run and later took the lead for good on a Freeman 3 that made it 13-12 with 12:55 to go in the first half.
Mike Myers led UMES with 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting, and 5 of 8 from the free throw line.
