Late free throws push Massachusetts past Duquesne 82-74
AMHERST, Mass. -- Trey Davis scored 26, including four 3-pointers, to lead Massachusetts to an 82-74 win over Duquesne on Saturday.
Maxie Esho added 13 points and 13 rebounds, Cady Lalanne had 11 points and six rebounds and Jabarie Hinds pitched in 11 points for the Minutemen (15-9, 8-3 Atlantic 10). Davis finished 6 of 9 from the field and 10 of 10 from the free throw line.
Micah Mason had 20 points and five assists on 7-of-12 shooting, Jeremiah Jones had 11 points, nine boards, and seven assists and Derrick Colter added 11 points and five rebounds for the Dukes (8-14, 3-8).
Jordan Robinson hit a pair of free throws to knot the game at 66 with 3:31 remaining, and then the Minutemen converted 11 of 12 from the free throw line to close out the game. Davis scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half.
