Radford holds off UNC Asheville 75-68
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Ya Ya Anderson sank six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points to help Radford hold off UNC Asheville for a 75-68 win Saturday.
R.J. Price contributed 20 points and Brandon Holcomb and Javonte Green added 10 apiece for Radford (20-9, 11-5 Big South), which sank 8 of 21 from 3-point range while holding UNC Asheville to 4 of 17. Green also hauled in 10 rebounds to get his sixth double-double of the season.
Asheville (13-14, 9-7) took its first lead of the game with Andrew Rowsey's 3-pointer to make it 55-54 with 7:21 left, setting up a back-and-forth battle that included five lead changes and three ties down the stretch. Radford snagged the lead for good with Cameron Jones' layup that made it 70-68 and then pulled away as Asheville went 0-5 from the field over the final 2:07.
Sam Hughes' 15 points led four Bulldogs in double figures.
