Nimley, Saunders pace Charleston Southern past Liberty 80-58
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Saah Nimley finished with a career-high 30 points, along with six boards and four assists to lead Charleston Southern to an 80-58 win over Liberty on Wednesday night.
Will Saunders added 22 points and 10 rebounds, including 7-of-10 shooting from 3-point range, and Arlon Harper had 12 points and six assists for the Buccaneers (9-7, 3-2 Big South). Nimley also hit seven 3s and the Buccaneers shot 47.2 percent from 3-point range.
Peter Moller had 14 points and David Andoh added 12 for Liberty (6-12, 0-5). Theo Johnson scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards.
Nimley scored the Buccaneers' first 11 points en route to an early 14-3 lead, and tallied 19 of his 30 points in the first half.
Liberty crept within three early in the second half, but Charleston Southern scored 36 of the following 48 points to take control of the game.
