Jacksonville State beats UNC Asheville, 64-55
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Darion Rackley scored 16 points, including 9 of 12 at the free throw line, to lead Jacksonville State to a 64-55 victory over UNC Asheville on Tuesday night.
After a layup by UNC Asheville's Marcus Neely cut the Jacksonville State led to 54-52 with two minutes left, the Gamecocks scored six straight points, and 10 of the game's final 13, to close out the game.
All 10 points came at the free throw line, with Rackley and Jeremy Watson each making four apiece.
D.J. Felder added 11 points off the bench for the Gamecocks (7-4), while Watson and JaQuail Townser and both finished with 10 points.
Both teams shot under 40 percent, but Jacksonville State held a 34-12 advantage in free throw attempts and a 47-21 lead on the glass.
David Robertson scored 18 points to lead the Bulldogs (4-6).
