BOILIMG SPRIMGS, N.C. -- Jerome Hill tossed down 20 points and Dylan Poston added another 18 off the bench as Gardner-Webb routed NCCAA Div-II Toccoa Falls 100-61 on Friday night.
Gardner-Webb bounced back from a 91-65 loss at No. 3 Arizona Tuesday, watching as the Wildcats used a 30-4 run in the second half to put the game away.
Against the Christian liberal arts college from Toccoa, Georgia, the Runnin' Bulldogs needed to close hard in the first half. The Eagles led until Tyrell Nelson hit a pair of free throws with 8:10 left in the half to tie at 24-24. Jarvis Davis gave Gardner-Webb the lead for good a minute later on a layup.
Hill was a perfect 8 of 8 from the field and grabbed seven boards to lead Gardner-Webb. Poston was 6 of 8 off the bench and the Runnin' Bulldogs were collectively 37 of 66 (56.1 percent) from the field.
