Jones, Chattanooga hold off VMI for 86-82 win in 2OT
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Casey Jones had 17 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots, and Eric Robertson scored 19 to help Chattanooga beat Virginia Military Institute 86-82 in double overtime on Thursday night.
Ronrico White added 15 points and Greg Pryor scored 12 for Chattanooga (21-9, 14-3 Southern Conference), which is one game behind conference-leading Wofford with one to play.
Tre' McLean and Duke Etheridge each hit 3-pointers as Chattanooga scored 10 of the first 15 in the second overtime and led 84-79 with 1:27 remaining.
Phillip Anglade made 1 of 2 free throws and, after White missed the front end of a one-and-one on the other end, hit a pair from the stripe to pull VMI (11-17, 7-10) within two with 38 seconds to play.
Pryor made 1 of 2 from the stripe to make it 85-82 and, after a VMI turnover, made another with 12 seconds left to seal it.
Anglade scored a career-high 26 with six blocked shots for VMI. Julian Eleby had 25 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
