The Citadel ends 19-game road skid; beats Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Ashton Moore scored 28 points, P.J. Horgan added 18 and The Citadel ended a 19-game road losing streak on Monday with an 85-83 overtime win at UNC-Greensboro.
The Bulldogs (6-8, 1-2 Southern Conference) last won a road game on Feb. 20, 2013, defeating Appalachian State 80-77 in overtime.
Moore sank two free throws with two seconds left in regulation, then putting the Bulldogs up for good with a 3-pointer with 3:24 left in overtime. His jumper with 1:05 left proved to be the difference. Kayel Locke's three-point play with 48 seconds left were the final points for the Spartans (5-11, 1-2), and after a miss by The Citadel with 11 seconds left, they couldn't get off a final shot.
Tevon Saddler led Greensboro with 23 points and RJ White had 17.
The Citadel shot 53 percent, making 10 of 18 3s, and 23 of 27 free throws.
