North Florida knocks off FGCU 80-64
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Dallas Moore scored 27 points and North Florida made 12 3-pointers in defeating Florida Gulf Coast 80-64 on Wednesday night.
Demarcus Daniels added 15 points and Trent Mackey 12 for the Ospreys (10-9, 2-0 Atlantic Sun), who shot 50 percent, including 48 percent from long range.
The victory broke a string of five straight losses to the Eagles (11-7, 1-1) for the Ospreys, who have won their last three games. The Ospreys prevailed despite losing their second-leading scorer and top rebounder this season, Chris Davenport, to a pair of technical fouls in the first half.
Brett Comer scored 21 points and Bernard Thompson 15 for Florida Gulf Coast, which was picked first in the coaches' preseason Atlantic Sun poll with North Florida second.
The Ospreys led 39-37 at halftime and went up by double figures for good on Christian Terrell's layup with 6:18 remaining.
