Princeton uses 14 3-pointers to top Lipscomb, 77-55
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Clay Wilson came off the bench to hit five 3-pointers and score a career-high 19 points to spark Princeton to a 77-55 win over Lipscomb Friday night.
The Tigers used four 3-pointers to build a 25-16 cushion midway through the first half and led 44-27 at halftime after Alec Berman, Wilson and Hans Brase each drained shots from distance in the final four minutes of the period.
Princeton shot 26 of 51 from the field (51 percent) and finished shooting 14 of 26 from beyond the arc. Brase had 14 points, Spencer Weisz 13 and Amir Bell 11 for the Tigers.
In the program's first game against an Ivy League opponent, Lipscomb got 20 points from Malcolm Smith, who converted 6 of 11 shots from the field and was 8 of 9 from the free throw line. The Bisons shot 36.2 percent from the field (21 of 58).
