St. John's runs past Seton Hall, 85-72
NEW YORK -- Sir'Dominic Pointer scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and added three blocks to lead St. John's to an 85-72 victory over Seton Hall on Saturday.
Phil Greene IV finished with 19 points and Rysheed Jordan added 16 points and six assists for the Red Storm (18-9, 7-7 Big East), who have won five straight conference home games and four of the last five against Seton Hall.
The game was tied at 59 with 8:27 to play, but an 11-2 St. John's run over the next 3:02 gave the Red Storm a double digit lead and put the game away.
Saint John's shot 49.2 percent from the field and had a season-high 20 team assists.
Isaiah Whitehead had 19 points to lead Seton Hall (15-12, 5-10), which was without leading scorer Sterling Gibbs who was suspended for hitting Villanova's Ryan Arcidiacono during Monday night's game.
