Georgetown cruises past Towson 78-46
WASHINGTON -- D'Vantes Smith-Rivera scored 16 points and Georgetown took control early to roll to a 78-46 win over Towson on Sunday.
Paul White added 14 points, Joshua Smith 12, Jabril Trawick 11 and Isaac Copeland 10 for the Hoyas (5-2).
Georgetown shot 56 percent from the field and made half of its 22 3-pointers. White hit 4 of 5 from behind the arc.
Towson (7-2) missed all 12 of its 3-pointers and shot 43.9 from the field. Four McGlynn and John Davis had 10 points apiece for the Tigers.
Georgetown steadily pulled away from the start. White hit back-to-back 3-pointers, Mikael Hopkins had a tip-in, L.J. Peak made a free throw and Trawick had a dunk to make it 26-8 with 7:24 left in the half.
It was 40-17 at the break but the Hoyas didn't slow down, going up 56-23 after a White 3 and Smith-Rivera's two free throws and a 3.
