Henton leads Providence past Yale 72-66
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- LaDontae Henton scored 29 points and Tyler Harris chipped in 14 to lead Providence past Yale 72-66 on Friday.
Yale went on a 7-1 run -- sparked by Justin Sears' dunk -- to pull within three points, 69-66, with 21 seconds left to play. Kyron Cartwright made both his free throws and Henton went 1 of 2 from the line to close out the game.
Henton shot 10 of 19 from the floor and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line. Harris was the only other Providence player to score in double figures.
The Friars (6-0) combined to shoot 51.2 percent (22 of 43) from the floor, and just 3 of 13 (23.1 percent) from behind the arc.
Javier Duren led the Bulldogs (5-2) with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Makai Mason added 12 points.
