NEW YORK CITY -- Sir'Dominic Pointer had 18 points, eight rebounds and six blocks to lead St. John's to a 66-53 win over LIU Brooklyn Wednesday.
D'Angelo Harrison finished with 14 points and seven rebounds and Rysheed Jordan contributed 15 points, on 6-of-9 shooting, and had four rebounds for St. John's (3-0).
Landon Atterberry had 12 points and 11 rebounds, including seven offensive rebounds and Gerrell Martin had 14 points and six rebounds for LIU Brooklyn (0-1).
St. John's led 32-28, but LIU Brooklyn took a brief 33-32 lead. Then Jordan took over, scoring 13 of his points in the second half to keep St. John's in front.
LIU Brooklyn got within 56-50 with 4:02 left, but was held just three points the rest of the way. Jordan scored five of St. John's final eight points.
