Kent State rallies to knock off Bowling Green 81-80
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Derek Jackson and Devareaux Manley drilled two straight 3-pointers late as Kent State rallied to knock off Bowling Green 81-80 in Mid-American Conference action on Tuesday night.
Kent State (20-10, 11-6) is now tied with Bowling Green (19-9, 11-6) and Buffalo (20-9, 11-6) atop the Mid-American Conference East Division.
Bowling Green was up 77-72 with 3:22 left in the game when Jackson and Manly hit the treys for a 78-77 lead with 46 seconds remaining.
Manley made a free throw and Jimmy Hall added two more for just enough margin as Richaun Holmes drilled a 3-pointer as time expired.
Kris Brewer made 5 of 6 from beyond the arc for 21 points to lead Kent State, Manley made 5 of 8 from long range for 18 points and Hall added 17.
Holmes led the Falcons with 29 points and nine rebounds and Jehvon Clarke had 12 points.
