Xavier Ford and Buffalo blast MAC-leading Kent State 80-55
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Xavier Ford had a career-high 25 points Friday night, and Buffalo knocked off conference-leading Kent State 80-55, snapping the Golden Flashes' six-game winning streak.
Ford was 9 of 14 from the field and 3 of 6 from 3-point range with nine rebounds and three steals. The senior came into the game shooting just 3 of 9 on 3-pointers for his career with all the attempts this season.
Justin Moss added 13 points and nine rebounds, and Shannon Evans scored 12 for the Bulls (14-6, 5-3 Mid-American).
Buffalo led 45-25 at the half and stretched to 59-30 on Moss' three-point play less than five minutes into the second. Buffalo led by no less than 25 from there.
Kent State (15-6, 6-2) trailed 19-15 midway through the first half before Buffalo pulled away with a 26-7 stretch. Jimmy Hall led the Flashes with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
