Bowling Green cruises to 69-54 win over Ohio
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Richaun Holmes scored 18 points and hauled in 12 rebounds to lead Bowling Green to a 69-54 win over Ohio on Saturday.
Zack Denny contributed 11 points and nine rebounds, while Anthony Henderson added 10 points for Bowling Green (10-3, 2-0 Mid-American), which shot 44 percent from the floor and never trailed.
The Falcons opened the game with a 9-2 spurt, took a 34-29 advantage into the break and continued to pull away in the second half. Bowling Green controlled the boards 41-34 and got more than twice as many second chance points, 30-14, to pick up its fourth straight win and open conference play 2-0 for the first time since the 2004-05 season.
Ryan Taylor led Ohio (5-8, 0-2) with 16 points, while Maurice Daly Ndour added 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had three blocks.
