Turner, Ball State put away Central Michigan 83-65
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Zavier Turner scored 21 points to lead five Ball State players in double figures, and the Cardinals put away Central Michigan 83-65 on Saturday.
Ball State (7-6, 2-0 Mid-American) shot 55.6 percent from the field and outrebounded Central Michigan 36-24. Jeremiah Davis finished with 14 points, Franko House added 13, Sean Sellers 11 and Matt Kamieniecki 10 with 10 rebounds.
Turner, who has reached double figures in seven games this season, was 7 of 10 overall and sank all four 3-point attempts while dishing out five assists.
Rayshawn Simmons had 14 points and Chris Fowler contributed 13 for the Chippewas (11-2, 1-1), who saw their six-game winning streak snapped.
The Cardinals let a 10-point first-half lead slip in the second, but surged away with a 23-6 run sparked by three layups from Kamieniecki. Davis' lay-in made it 74-58 with 2:55 remaining.
