Parker, Bowling Green rally past Kent State 66-64
KENT, Ohio -- Spencer Parker scored 12 of his 16 second-half points in the final six minutes, helping Bowling Green rally past Kent State 66-64 in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams on Wednesday night.
The Falcons (9-3, 1-0) were trailing 57-49 after Kent State's Devareaux Manley sank a 3-pointer. Richaun Holmes, who led Bowling Green with 20 points, answered with a 3 of his own. Parker took over from there, hitting two free throws, a 3-pointer and a pair of layups for a 61-58 lead with 3:07 left.
Jimmy Hall made 2 of 4 free throws for Kent State (9-5, 0-1), but Parker followed with another 3-pointer, making it a four-point game with 46 seconds remaining. Jehvon Clarke then drilled two free throws to seal it.
Hall finished with 25 points and Manley chipped in 13 for the Golden Flashes, who led by as much as 15 in the opening half.
