Lehigh holds on to beat Holy Cross 69-64
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Tim Kempton posted a double-double, scoring a career-best 26 points with 13 rebounds as Lehigh held on in the face of a late-game rally to beat Holy Cross 69-64 on Saturday.
Kempton did it with 9-of-10 shooting from the field and 8-of-14 from the line for the Mountain Hawks (8-9, 2-4 Patriot). Austin Price and Kahron Ross added 13 points apiece.
Kempton scored 23 of his 26 points in the first half, leading Lehigh to a 44-28 advantage at the break.
The Mountain Hawks led by as many as 20 points, 58-38, early in the second half before Holy Cross' Justin Burrell sank a 3-pointer with 6:24 to play, igniting a final 18-8 push that brought the Crusaders (6-10, 1-5) to within four with a second to play.
Mitchell Hahn led the Crusaders with 12 points and five rebounds.
