Knorr, Venturini help Navy finish off Army 75-66
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Kendall Knorr finished with 17 points, Brandon Venturini added 15 and Navy put away Army for a 75-66 victory on Saturday.
Worth Smith chipped in 12 points, Tilman Dunbar had 10 and Will Kelly eight with six rebounds for the Midshipmen (7-9, 3-1 Patriot League). Knorr was 3 of 4 from the field and 11 of 13 from the line. Navy shot 46.3 percent overall and had just six turnovers.
Kyle Wilson led Army (10-5, 1-3) with 18 points, Tanner Plomb contributed 17 and Dylan Cox had 10.
Army climbed back from an early 12-point deficit in the second half as Wilson hit a 3-pointer and a layup to pull within two with 5:31 remaining. Knorr hit a jumper, Kelly made a layup and Smith dunked for a 56-49 lead with 3:26 left.
Navy finished the Black Knights off at the line, making 19 of its last 24 free throws.
