Kempton with 19, leads Lehigh over Army 71-60
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Tim Kempton had 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Lehigh to a 71-60 victory over Army on Wednesday night.
Army led 50-48 at the 10:32 mark before Lehigh answered with an 11-1 surge. Kempton scored nine of his 14 second-half points during the run to give the Mountain Hawks a 61-51 lead with 7:17 to play, and they led the rest of the way.
Kempton shot 5 of 10 from the field and made 9 of 12 free throws. Justin Goldsborough had 13 points, Corey Schaefer chipped in 10, and Kahron Ross scored 13 points and dished out eight assists for Lehigh (7-7, 1-2 Patriot League).
Kyle Wilson had 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting, and Tanner Plomb added 12 to pace Army (10-4, 1-2), which shot just 21 of 61 for 34.4 percent from the field and finished with its lowest point total of the season.
