Hankerson leads Boston University past Navy 70-64
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Cedric Hankerson hit 5 of 8 3-pointers and finished with 21 points to lead Boston University past Navy 70-64 on Wednesday night for its fourth straight win.
Justin Alston scored 17 points for BU (7-7, 3-0 Patriot), Nathan Dieudonne had 14 with 12 rebounds and Eric Fanning added 11 points.
Alston scored BU's final 10 points of the first half, spanning seven minutes, to help the Terriers hold a 30-25 lead. He made all eight of his free throws over the stretch.
Then Dieudonne and Hankerson combined to score BU's first 14 points of the second half, which included two 3-pointers apiece, for a 44-32 lead.
Worth Smith, the reigning conference player of the week, scored 25 points for Navy (6-9, 2-1) and Brandon Venturini added 14.
BU hit 11 of 20 3-pointers after entering the game ranked 25th in the nation, averaging 8.5 makes per game.
