Penn beats Navy 57-46, snaps 6-game losing streak
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Darien Nelson-Henry scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help Pennsylvania snap a six-game losing streak and beat Navy 57-46 on Wednesday night.
Tony Hicks finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Penn (1-5).
Navy's Zach Fong hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 10 midway through the first half, but Hicks hit a 3 and Sam Jones hit 2 more in a 17-4 run by Penn, which took a 38-21 lead into halftime.
The Quakers extended their lead to 20 early in the second half.
A 9-1 run, which was capped by a 3-pointer by Brandon Venturini, pulled Navy (2-5) within eight, 52-44, with 5:25 left, but the Midshipmen went 1 of 10 from the field down the stretch.
Fong and Edward Alade led Navy, which shot 34 percent from the field and 5 of 23 from 3-point range, with eight points apiece.
