Oral Roberts tops North Dakota State 74-58
TULSA, Okla. -- Obi Emegano scored a career-high 34 points and Oral Roberts knocked North Dakota State out of a first-place tie in the Summit League, beating the Bison 74-58 on Thursday.
North Dakota State (20-9, 12-4), which finished its league play with the loss, fell a half-game behind South Dakota State, which faces South Dakota on Saturday in the regular season finale.
Oral Roberts (16-13, 9-6) ran up a 23-6 lead over the first 10 minutes of the game with Emegano pouring in 16, including a pair of 3-pointers, over the span. North Dakota State missed 13 of its first 14 shots and Oral Roberts led 41-21 at the break.
The Bison found some rhythm in the second half and reduced their deficit to 13 on Lawrence Alexander's layup with 6:30 left. Oral Roberts responded with a five-point spurt, including a three-point play by Emegano, to put away the Bison.
Bobby Word added 20 points for Oral Roberts.
A.J. Jacobson led NDSU with 15 points.
