Starks jumper with 1.3 left gives Bryant 48-46 win at Denver
DENVER -- Dyami Starks knocked down a jumper with 1.3 seconds left in the game to give Bryant a 48-46 win at Denver Sunday afternoon.
Starks hit a 3-pointer with 22 seconds left to knot the score at 46-46. Denver's Brett Olson turned the ball over with 11 seconds left, setting up Starks game-winner.
Bryant held a 22-12 lead at intermission and the Bulldogs pushed the lead to 14 points on a Starks 3 and a Hunter Ware free throw. Denver answered with an 8-1 run to make it 27-21 and tied the game at 33-33 with 7:55 left after Olson knocked down two free throws.
Starks finished with 21 points to lead Bryant (3-5), shooting 7 of 18 from the field and 6 of 13 from distance. Collectively the Bulldogs were 16 of 40 from the field (40 percent).
Cam Griffin had 14 points to lead Denver (5-7).
