Tulane holds off East Carolina in the 2nd 67-59
GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Jonathan Stark scored 22 points and Louis Dabney added 19 as Tulane rallied back for a halftime lead and held on to beat East Carolina 67-59 on Wednesday.
East Carolina led 24-10 with 6:53 left in the opening half when Tulane went on a 25-2 run to go up by nine points at the break. Caleb White ignited East Carolina's offense in the second half, making three 3-pointers in a row to close within one with 11:45 on the clock.
The Pirates stayed close, 61-58, with 4:05 to go. They went cold after that, though, missing their next six shot attempts and scoring just one point in the final four minutes.
Stark was 4 of 5 from 3-point range and Dabney finished with five assists for the Green Wave (10-3, 1-0 American Athletic Conference). Paris Roberts-Campbell led East Carolina (7-7, 0-1) with 14 points.
