Illinois State snaps losing streak, beats Bradley 60-47
PEORIA, Ill. -- Daishon Knight scored 15 points and Illinois State snapped a three-game losing streak with a 60-47 victory over Bradley on Wednesday night.
Deontae Hawkins and Reggie Lynch added 12 points apiece with Hawkins also grabbing nine rebounds for the Redbirds (16-11, 8-7 Missouri Valley).
The Redbirds notched their first series sweep of the Braves and first victory at Bradley since the 2011-12 season.
Omari Grier had 10 points and Auston Barnes nine points and nine rebounds for Bradley (8-20, 3-12), which dropped its third in a row. The Braves shot just 29.6 percent.
The Redbirds led 28-22 at halftime and opened the second half with four points from Knight and three from Lynch for a 13-point lead. The Braves cut the deficit to six on three occasions but the Redbirds scored the final five points of the game to finish with their biggest lead at 13 points.
