Quinnipiac tops Marist 66-54
HAMDEN, Conn. -- Ayron Hutton and Ousmane Drame scored 15 points apiece and Quinnipiac topped Marist 66-54 on Sunday.
Drame was 7 of 11 from the floor, hauled in 13 rebounds and blocked two shots. Hutton was 5 of 6 -- including 4 of 5 from beyond the arc -- and had three assists. The Bobcats were 7 of 13 (54 percent) on 3-pointers.
Quinnipiac (8-7, 2-4 Metro Atlantic) scored the first two buckets of the game and never trailed. Hutton's layup almost six minutes in made it 11-4. Marist went scoreless over 6:44 as Quinnipiac ran off 13 straight points and built a 35-19 lead at the break.
Drame's layup and dunk on the first two possessions of the second half pushed the lead to 20, and Marist never drew closer than the 12 point final margin.
Chavaughn Lewis led Marist (1-15, 0-6) with 18 points. Phillip Lawrence added 11 points.
