Sharp-shooting Albany beats Siena 77-68
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Evan Singletary scored 21 points and Peter Hooley added 20 to lead Albany past Siena 77-68 Saturday night.
Singletary made 5 of 6 field goals, including 3 of 3 from 3-point range, and 8 of 8 free throws for Albany (3-6), which shot 54.1 percent (20 of 37) from the field, 50 percent (8 of 16) from behind the arc and 90.6 percent (29 of 32) from the free-throw line. Hooley made 4 of 9 3-pointers and 6 of 6 free throws.
A four-point play by Dallas Ennema pushed the Albany lead to 54-41 with 11 minutes left and a 3-pointer by Hooley about 4 minutes later gave the Great Danes their biggest lead of the night, 61-47.
Patrick Cole scored five points during a 9-2 run which pulled Siena (3-5) within 68-60 with 2:08 remaining, but Albany made 9 of 10 free throws down the stretch to seal it.
