Casimir lead Iona in 126-76 rout of Delaware State
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Freshman Schadrac Casimir scored 40 points to lead Iona to a 126-76 rout of Delaware State on Wednesday night.
Casmir hit eight 3-pointers on 11-of-13 shooting overall, and was the most for an Iona player since Lamont Jones put up 40 against Quinnipiac in 2012. It was the largest margin of victory for the Gaels (4-1) since beating Pace by 51 points in 1968.
A.J. English scored 26 points with six 3-pointers for Iona, and Isaiah Williams had 25 points with seven treys-both career highs. David Laury finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Gaels.
Iona hit a school record 24 3-pointers, the most since draining 18 against Liberty in 2012.
Amere May scored 18 points and Kendall Gray had 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Delaware State (2-3).
