Orekeafor scores 29, Rider tops Lehigh 78-74
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Teddy Okereafor had 29 points, six rebounds and three steals to lead Rider to a 78-74 victory over Lehigh on Friday night.
Kahlil Thomas and Jimmie Taylor each added 11 points for the Broncs (2-1). Okereafor shot 8 of 12 from the field and scored 10 of his team's last 15 points.
Tim Kempton finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds and three steals and Austin Price added 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting for the Mountain Hawks (0-3).
After Brandon Alston made a layup to put Lehigh up 22-17. Rider scored 21 of the next 31 points capped off by two 3s from Okereafor to end the half up 38-32.
With 11:37 left in the game Taylor hit two free throws to go up 53-44, until Lehigh scored nine straight capped off by Kahron Ross' 3-pointer to knot the score at 53 with 8:18 remaining.
