UMass tops Manhattan 77-68 in OT
AMHERST, Mass. -- Cady Lalanne scored 23 points, and UMass regrouped to beat Manhattan 77-68 on Tuesday afternoon after the Jaspers sent the game to overtime with a buzzer-beating alley-oop off an inbounds pass.
The Minutemen were in control leading 61-59 with the ball and 2 seconds left in regulation, but Manhattan forced a turnover. Then no UMass player got a body on Rich Williams, who soared to slam down a lob from Emmy Andujar.
The Minutemen regained momentum in overtime, outscoring the Jaspers 16-7. The 11 a.m. start was part of the Tip-Off Marathon.
