OXFORD, Ohio -- Will Sullivan scored 21 points and Eric Washington had 17 points and eight assists to help Miami (Ohio) roll to a 76-63 victory over Southern Utah on Sunday
Sullivan's 3-pointer at the end of the first half put Miami (1-0) up 32-30. The RedHawks then opened the second on a 15-5 run to stretch its lead to 47-35 with 14:57 remaining. Sullivan's back-to-back 3s made it 68-49 with 2:52 to play.
Sullivan, the only senior on the roster, hit six 3-pointers on 7-of-9 shooting. The RedHawks shot 50 percent and the Thunderbirds 25 percent from beyond the arc.
Trey Kennedy had 17 points, A.J. Hess 14 and Juwan Major 12 to lead Southern Utah (0-2). Kennedy scored to give the Thunderbirds their last lead, 30-29 with 39 seconds to play in the first half.
