Samford comes back for 76-68 win over Furman
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Raijon Kelly scored 19 points -- eight at the free throw line -- as Samford beat Furman 76-68 on Monday.
Isaiah Williams scored 17 and Tim Williams added 16 for Samford (10-14, 4-5 Southern). Tim Williams grabbed 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs held a 39-30 advantage on the glass. It was Tim Williams' fourth double-double of the season.
Stephen Croone scored 26 points, Larry Wideman added 16 and Charlie Reddick 10 for Furman (7-15, 1-8).
Samford was down by 10 points early in the second half before ripping off a 15-2 run for a 46-43 lead with 13:15 remaining. Isaiah Williams scored eight points during the stretch, including two 3-pointers.
Larry Wideman's 3-pointer pulled Furman within 69-62 but Kelly and Connor Miller made 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute to secure the win.
